American TV series Elementary of 2012 is doomed to comparison with the British Sherlock, released a little earlier. Probably, the main unifying feature is time of action. The events in both series take place these days. Holmes of this show is an Englishman who came to New York for treatment of drug addiction. After passing the rehabilitation course, he makes a decision to stay in America. But to somehow diversify his life, he begins to advise the local police in the most intricate cases. Of course, we have not the classic Sherlock, but rather guy freak and there are a lot of such people in the modern series. His assistant in this story is not John, but Joan, a woman Asian, who Holmes's father hired to keep an eye on his little boy, a former drug addict.
